This Showcase event brings together many elements of our education work in a vibrant celebration of excellence led by Jeffrey Skidmore, Rebecca Ledgard and our fantastic team of vocal tutors. The event will feature work from our first access projects: the award winning Singing Medicine and Singing Playgrounds, which forms our work as a flagship organisation for Sing Up, the national singing programme. There will also be performances by our Junior Academy and Academy of Vocal Music.

Children and adults of all ages are invited to join in the fun. Amongst well-known songs like Ben E. King’s Stand by Me and Rogers & Hammerstein’s My Favourite Things, there will be extracts from our upcoming collaboration with Welsh National Opera: the Song Contest of the Birds and the Beasts, sung by members of our Junior Academy and Academy of Vocal Music. Another highlight of the evening will be a collection of traditional childrens’ music sung by Tower Hamlets schools: a glimpse of their contribution to the opening ceremony of One Young World, a global youth leadership summit at which Bob Geldof and Archbishop Desmond Tutu were special guests.

This event is FREE and unticketed, so no reservation is necessary, but you are advised to arrive in good time.
