HOST OF ANGELS

We are delighted that we have been able to achieve so much of the work we set out to do when we embarked on our 40th Anniversary Project. With the support of our Angels, Guardian Angels and Archangels, our concert, commissioning, recording and education activities have gone from strength to strength. But there is much more to do. In a difficult funding climate, with uncertainties around long-term grant funding, and with little sponsorship available, we need your help more than ever.

We have been successful in funding the three 'Triennial' concerts (Messiah 1784, Elijah 1846 and Dream of Gerontius 1900), we have issued two important new recordings (Bach's St Matthew Passion and Joy in the morning), and we have commissioned and given the world premieres of new works by James MacMillan and Alec Roth. But we cannot yet afford to release the fabulous live recordings of Elijah and Gerontius which we made, to record John Joubert's Wings of Faith, or to commission the larger-scale pieces by MacMillan and Fyfe Hutchins. And money is running out for our award-winning Singing Medicine project at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Many people have already given very generously, but we hope you too can make or renew your support to our Host of Angels scheme.

Whatever you can give will help ensure that Ex Cathedra can continue to work for the benefit of Birmingham, the region and the future of choral music in this country. We hope that you will be able to give generously.

You can become an Angel (minimum suggested donation of £50 per person), a Guardian Angel (£150) or an Archangel (£500). All Angels can book their tickets for our Birmingham season concerts during the same priority booking period offered to those booking concert packages. We may, from time to time, also offer other opportunities to become more closely connected with the choir and its work.

You can make join the Host of Angels by downloading and returning this reply slip to Ex Cathedra, 611B The Big Peg, 120 Vyse Street, Birmingham B18 6NF. Please Gift Aid your donation if you can, by completing the relevant section on the form.

Be an Angel - thank you!
