AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR EDUCATION WORK

Ex Cathedra's education programme is one of the foremost singing education programmes in the UK, comprising a wide range of groundbreaking projects based on the premise that singing is for all, with the power to engage the whole body, ignite the soul and turn individuals into communities.

We seek to inspire a love of singing in people of all ages and backgrounds through our exciting, innovative and inclusive projects in schools, hospitals and the wider community, and to provide opportunities for talented young singers to realise their full potential.

Ex Cathedra is currently delivering its acclaimed Singing Playgrounds and Singing Mix project to schools in Birmingham, Derby and London, and its Singing Medicine project at Birmingham Children's Hospital. It is Birmingham City Council's Arts Champion for Sutton Coldfield and a Flagship organisation for Sing Up.

Ex Cathedra complements these projects by running its own training choirs for talented young singers, the Academy and Junior Academy of Vocal Music.

Ex Cathedra would like to thank Sandvik Limited for its ongoing sponsorship of Ex Cathedra's education, a relationship which was acknowledged as the winner of the 'Sustainability' and 'Champion of Champions' categories in the Jaguar Land Rover Awards for Arts & Business 2008.
